Mega Audino is a support wall that gained Fairy typing and Healer upon Mega EvolutionMega EvolutionmechanicOnce per battle, a Pokémon holding the right Mega Stone transforms into a stronger form with new stats, type, and ability.Click to read more →. At 103/126/126 defenses with 105 HP, it’s one of the bulkiest Megas available. It won’t deal much damage, but it’s extremely hard to KO and provides passive status healing to allies.
Healer’s 30% chance per turn to cure an ally is deceptively powerful over a long game. In a typical battle where Mega Audino stays on the field for 4-5 turns, the probability of curing at least one status condition is very high. Burn and paralysis, which persist throughout the battle, are the most valuable things to clear.
Wish support
Wish (a move that heals the user or their replacement for 50% max HP two turns later) pairs naturally with Mega Audino’s bulk. It can set up a Wish for itself or use the delayed heal to restore a teammate that switches in.
Fairy typing defensively
Fairy provides Dragon immunity — one of the most valuable resistances in the format. Mega Audino walls Dragon-type attackers completely and can use Moonblast (Fairy STABSTABmechanicSame-Type Attack Bonus: a move deals ×1.5 damage when its type matches one of the user's types.Click to read more →) to threaten them back.
