Earth Power (Ground STAB) similarly benefits.
Its base Speed is 20 — one of the lowest in the game. Under Trick Room, this means Mega Camerupt moves first. It doesn’t need any Speed investment, any speed support outside of Trick Room, or any setup turns. It simply attacks at full power immediately.
Sun team synergy
Fire Blast under both Sun weather and Sheer Force reaches massive damage numbers. Sun boosts Fire by 1.5×, Sheer Force boosts it 1.3×, STAB adds 1.5×. The cumulative multiplier is one of the highest in the format for a non-setup attacker.
Fire/Ground coverage
Fire hits Grass, Bug, Steel, and Ice. Ground hits Poison, Rock, Steel, and Electric types that Fire can’t touch. Together, these two types cover an enormous portion of the meta with few shared resistances.
What stops it
- Water-type moves — Water hits both Fire and Ground for 2× each, a 4× super-effective weakness. Any Water move is a guaranteed KO.
- Trick Room expiration — When Trick Room ends, Mega Camerupt moves last and can’t attack without being hit first.
- Ground moves — Ground hits Ground neutrally, but the low bulk means any super-effective hit ends it quickly.
