Mega Feraligatr is Champions’ premier Water/Dragon physical attacker. Dragonize converts its Normal-type moves into Dragon-type moves, then gives them a 1.2× power boost — and as a Water/Dragon type, Feraligatr gets full STABSTABmechanicSame-Type Attack Bonus: a move deals ×1.5 damage when its type matches one of the user's types.Click to read more → on those moves too. A Normal move becomes a 1.2× powered Dragon STAB attack: that’s effectively 1.8× the base power before any other modifiers.
Why the typing matters
Water/Dragon is a powerful offensive type combination. Dragon hits every type for neutral or better except Steel and Fairy. Water fills in the gap vs. Fire, Rock, and Ground. The dual STAB coverage means very few Pokémon can safely switch in.
Dragonize in the moveset
The real trick is choosing which Normal moves to keep. Moves like:
- Return / Double-Edge — high-power physical attacks that become Dragon STAB
- Hyper Voice — special spread move that becomes Dragon, useful for hitting both opponents
- Quick Attack — priority Dragon STAB with Dragonize active
Feraligatr can mix in its natural Water moves (Waterfall, Crunch) for coverage, or lean entirely on Dragonized Normal moves for consistency.
What it’s weak to
Dragon-type Pokémon resist Dragon. Fairy types are immune to Dragon entirely — Togekiss, WhimsicottWhimsicottpokemonPrankster utility lead. Priority Tailwind, Encore, and Sunny Day let it dictate tempo against teams that thought they had it.Click to read more →, and Sylveon completely wall the Dragon coverage. Teams using Mega Feraligatr need to handle Fairy types from another slot. Ice and Dragon moves from faster Pokémon are the other main concern.
