Drizzle is a weather-setting ability carried by Pelipper (and Politoed). The moment the Pokémon with Drizzle switches onto the field, permanent rain begins — no turn spent, no move slot used.
What rain does
- Water-type moves deal 50% more damage
- Fire-type moves deal 50% less damage
- Thunder and HurricaneHurricanemoveA Flying-type special move with 110 base power — normally 70% accurate, but 100% accurate in rain.Click to read more → become 100% accurate
- Swift SwimSwift SwimabilityAn ability that doubles the Pokémon's Speed stat while rain is active on the field.Click to read more → doubles the Speed of Pokémon with that ability

Why it matters
Weather in Reg M-A lasts indefinitely unless overwritten by another weather ability (Tyranitar’s Sand StreamSand StreamabilityAn ability that summons permanent sandstorm on entry, dealing 1/16 HP chip to non-Rock/Ground/Steel types each turn.Click to read more →, Torkoal’s DroughtDroughtabilityAn ability that instantly sets permanent sun when the Pokémon enters the field.Click to read more →, etc.). One Pelipper switch-in sets the engine for the rest of the game.
