Power Gem (Rock, 80 base power) becomes effectively 160 base power after Adaptability. Sludge Bomb (Poison, 90 base power) becomes 180 effective base power. At 130 base Special Attack, these numbers are very high.
Rock/Poison is an uncommon type combination with an interesting offensive profile. Rock handles Fire, Flying, Bug, and Ice. Poison handles Grass and Fairy. Together they cover most of the meta’s common threats.
Mortal Spin and hazard control
Base Glimmora is famous for Mortal Spin (a spinning move that removes hazards and poisons the opponent). Mega Glimmora keeps access to this, and with Adaptability, even the Poison damage from Mortal Spin benefits from the STAB boost if it triggers through a secondary effect.
Stealth Rock entry hazards
Mega Glimmora can set Stealth Rock, which damages opponents when they switch in based on their Rock-type weakness. This makes it a dual-purpose hazard setter and attacker.
What stops it
