They can still be forced out by moves like Roar, Whirlwind, U-turn, or Volt Switch — but the opponent can’t pivot to a better matchup on their own.

Why it’s not on every team

Mega Gengar’s frailty is the cost — the Mega slot, plus the trade-off that Gengar itself is a glass cannon vulnerable to almost any priority move. Trapping fails the moment Gengar is KO’d.
