Strategies

What it does

Volt Switch generates momentum while threatening damage and allows it to exit safely. Will-O-Wisp burns physical attackers. Resists Water (the most common attack type in Reg M-A) and is immune to Ground thanks to Levitate. Fills three defensive roles in one slot.

Why it's threatening

Rotom-Wash is one of the hardest Pokémon to cleanly KO in the format — it threatens back against almost every common meta Pokémon and Volt Switch means you never have to stay into a bad matchup. Burns cripple Incineroar, its main rival support role.

Grass moves are the single clean answer — Rotom-Wash is 2× weak to Grass (its Water typing is weak; Electric is neutral to Grass). A Grass attacker like Venusaur or Meowscarada threatens an OHKO. Don't try to out-damage it with Water or Electric moves; get a Grass type on the field.
