What it does

Prankster gives Tailwind +1 priority — it fires before almost any move in the game. Encore traps opponents into repeating their last move. Whimsicott rarely deals damage but controls which moves the opponent can make each turn.

Why it's threatening

Prankster Tailwind is difficult to prevent because it naturally has higher priority than most responses. Encore locks opponents into a useless move for 3 turns, creating free setup windows. The Grass/Fairy typing means very few common meta threats can cleanly KO it before it has acted.

Fire and Poison moves KO it quickly (Steel also resists Fairy). Volcarona's Bug + Fire STAB is a double-2× answer — Bug Buzz threatens Whimsicott directly while Fire moves clean up partners. Taunt from a faster Pokémon or another Prankster user shuts down Encore and Tailwind before they resolve, removing most of Whimsicott's utility.
